Cho Oyu Expedition - Day(s)

Cho Oyu is the one of the most popular mountain situated at the Nepal and Tibet (China) border side about 20 km to the west of Mount Everest . It is the sixth highest mountain in the world with height of 8,201 metres (26,906 ft) above sea level. The Cho Oyu means "Turquoise Goddess" in Tibetan. The Cho Oyu mountain is the most major peak of the Khumbu sub-section of the Mahalangur Himalaya in the west. In the west of Cho Oyu there lies the Nangpa La (5,716m/18,753 ft), a glaciated pass which is the main medium of trading between the Tibetans and the Khumbu's Sherpas. It is the peak which help to separates the Khumbu and Rolwaling Himalayas. In the Cho Oyu expedition you can enjoy the stunning view of various Himalayas such as Makalu, Mt.Everest, Gyan Kung  etc which are really fantastic. During this expedition you will get the chance to explore the the ancient Tibetan History, Tibetan culture, various monasteries, amazing Tibetan pleatue etc which help you for taking time to let your bodies acclimatize and make ready for ascent.

Day 01:          Arrive in Kathmandu International airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 02-03:     Permit preparation and short briefing.

Day 04-05:     Drive to the Tibet

Day 06-07:     Acclimatisation days at Nyalam Walks to 4,700m.

Day 08-09:     Drive to Xegar Cross the Thang La (5,200m) and drive to Xegar (4,300m). Acclimatisation walk to 4,600m.

Day 10:          Arrive Chinese base camp (4,900m)

Day 11:          Organisation at Chinese base camp

Day 12-15:     Trek to Cho Oyu base camp (5,700m)

Day 16-40:     Climbing the North West Face of Cho Oyu

Day 41:         Return trek to road-head

Day 42-43:     Drive into Kathmandu

Day 44:          Free day for shopping and rest

Day 45:          Departure to Kathmandu International airport.
