Tibet Everest Advanced Base Camp Trek is one of the world’s greatest journeys that combines Tibetan awesome culture with the highest trekking route on earth, so close to the summit of Mt. Everest that can be reached with out the need for crampons, ice axes or any mountaineering skills.

Flying into Lhasa from Kathmandu with the amazing views of the Himalayan giants of Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu and Kanchenjunga, four of the highest peaks in the world. We spend several days in our acclimatisation and exploration approach to Everest base camp and Advanced Everest Base Camp in Tibet. We witness the sights and sounds of Lhasa and Tibet – Potala palace, Norbulinkha temple, Jorkhang Square, Sera and Drepung monasteries, Namsto Lake on the way to Gyantse and Tashilhunpo monastery in Shigatse – not to miss!

We start our Tibet trekking from Tingri which means you’ll be in good shape and well acclimatize before your ascend to Everest Advanced Base Camp. En route there are yak herders camps and grain farms, moors and meadows and green valleys. We weave through the ice pinnacles and cross the Rongbuk glacier to Rabu La where you can peer over into the Kangshung face of Everest.

On arrival at Rongbuk monastery and Base camp you will be astounded by the spectacular and uninterrupted views of Everest’s great North face an awesome and heart throbbing experience. After having acclimatization rest day at Base camp we head for the steady achievable trek through stunning glaciers and peaks to Advanced Base Camp 3 at 6340 meter, where the sheer grandeur of Kangshung north face of Everest stands just in front of you. DAY1: KATHMANDU-ZHANGMU / 130KM

Highlights: Arrival & Pick-up and Acclimatization

Schedule today: Arrange by yourself the transportation from Kathmandu to Zhangmu border, cross the Friendship Bridge (China-Nepal border) and the Chinese Customs by yourself; afterwards, your Nepal to Tibet overland tour with us officially starts, our guide & driver will be picking you up from the border and then drive to town of Zhangmu; acclimatize and rest in hotel.

DAY2: ZHANGMU-OLD TINGRI / 210KM

Highlights: Mt. Shishapangma & one more day's acclimatization

Schedule today: Drive 210 km from Zhangmu to Old Tingri (alt.4300m), the road is well paved. On the way, you could see Mt. Shishapangma(alt.8012m) which is the only 8000+ meters mountain that totally within the territory of Tibet. Tonight we will stop and overnight at Old Tingri, there you could see Mt. Everest, the sunset view is also very awesome if the weather is good.

DAY3: OLD TINGRI-EVEREST BASE CAMP / 70KM OR 170 KM DEPENDS ON ROUTE

Highlights: Rongbuk Monastery, EBC

Schedule today: In the morning, drive to Mt. Everest Nature Reserve, the driving distance is not long today but road is unpaved and very bumpy; if weather permits, on the top of the Gyalpo-la pass you can see the beautiful peaks of 4 highest mountains over 8000 meters (Mt. Everest; Mt. Makalu; Mt. Lotse; Mt. Cho Oyu) in the world at the same time, what a great picture. Before arriving at the EBC, you will first visit the highest monastery in the world-Rongbuk Monastery, which is also a good position to watch the Everest, the sunset view is fantastic when weather is good.

DAY 4: EBC-SHIGATSE / 350KM

Highlights: Everest sunrise view, Tashilumpo Monastery

Schedule today: You can wake up early to see the sunrise view over the Everest if you like; after breakfast, we will drive towards Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet, where you will visit the Tashilumpo Monastery which is the seat of Panchen Lama, the equally important religious figure in Tibet as the Dalai Lama. The monastery was built by the first Dalai Lama in 1447, and inside the Monastery placed the highest statue of Buddha in Tibet which is 26.8 meters high.

DAY 5: SHIGATSE-GYANTSE-LHASA / 360KM

Highlights: Kumpa Stupa & Pelcho Monastery, Karola Glacier, Yamdrok Lake

Schedule today: In the morning, drive to the historic town of Gyantse, there you will visit the largest stupa in Tibet-Kumpa Stupa (Ten-thousand stupa), just next to the Stupa is the Pelcho Monastery. Afterwards, drive to Yamdrok Lake, according to local mythology, Yamdrok Lake is the transformation of a goddess, on the Gangbala Pass, you will have a clear picture of this Tibetan holy lake in turquoise, and in distance you can also see the snowcapped Summit of Ninjingkangsang. On the way, we will stop to visit the Karola Glacier too. End in Lhasa today.

DAY 6: LHASA CITY TOUR

Highlights: Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, Backhor Street

Schedule today: In the morning, visit the symbol or landmark of Lhasa-Potala Palace, the successive Dalai Lama's winter residence. In the afternoon, visit the center of Tibetan Buddhism-Jorhkang Temple, where you will come across lots of devoted pilgrimages coming from every corner of Tibet. Both sites are under the list of the world cultural heritages by the UNISCO. Afterwards, free time for you to wander through the Backhor Street, the busiest street in old Lhasa quarter. One welcome dinner will be given for free today; you will have a chance to taste the most genuine local Tibetan food and drinks.

DAY 7: LHASA CITY TOUR

Highlights: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery

Schedule today: In the morning, we will visit Drepung Monastery which is the biggest Tibetan Buddhism College with the biggest number of monks in Tibet. The monastery used to be the winter residence of the Dalai Lama before the 5th Dalai Lama moved his residency to the Potala Palace. And in the afternoon, we will visit another influential Gelugpa Monastery-Sera Monastery, where the largest scale of scripture debating among monks is famous all across Tibet.

DAY 8:

Schedule: Your Nepal to Tibet overland tour ends; our guide and driver will drop you off at airport or train station in Lhasa. Welcome to Tibet next time.
