The Annapurna Circuit Trek, starting from Besisahar and ending at Tadapani-Ghandruk, is a journey that offers a perfect mix of dramatic landscapes, cultural richness, and rewarding challenges. The trek begins in the lush subtropical valleys of the Marsyangdi River, where you’ll pass through terraced fields, waterfalls, and charming Gurung and Tibetan villages. As you ascend, the trail transitions to alpine forests and high-altitude terrains, eventually leading to the highlight of the trek: Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), one of the world’s highest trekking passes, which offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
After crossing the pass, the trail descends to the sacred village of Muktinath and into the arid Mustang region, eventually joining the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the world’s deepest gorge. From Jomsom, the route diverges to Ghorepani via lush forests and rhododendron-covered hills. The trek culminates in Tadapani, Ghandruk, a scenic village offering incredible mountain views and a glimpse into Gurung culture. This alternate ending bypasses the road-heavy sections of Tadapani, providing a more peaceful and scenic finale. The trek combines natural beauty, cultural immersion, and the satisfaction of traversing one of Nepal’s most iconic routes.
